About me

...

Hi my name is Sophie, I am an equine portrait and events photographer based in Suffolk, UK.

...

For as long as I can remember horses have been my passion. There was never any doubt in my mind that when I left school I would work in the equine industry however I would never have imagined it would be with a camera in my hand.

...

I was given a red Nikon Coolpix L22 camera for Christmas aged 8 and begun photographing the world around me. This inevitably consisted of my dog Cleo and horses. Before too long I was bringing my camera to every horse show I attended, it was simply another way to spend time around the animals I loved. However despite studying Design and Business at A-Level (alongside Physical Education and Biology) photography was always a hobby not a career option.

...

The aim was always to be a groom. Having finished my A-Levels I achieved this, living and working on an International Showjumping yard. Eighteen months later with various circumstance changing I knew it was time to move on. I took a month out to rest and work out what I was going to do next but the answer had been there all along, combining my two passions. So with my entry level DSLR in hand I set up SEH Photography.

...

My equipment, photography and business knowledge may have been somewhat upgraded but my aim still remains the same, to capture not only the great achievements but also silent conversations between horse and rider, fleeting moments that would other wise be forgotten.

Since launching in August 2017 I have had my work published both online and in print publications including:
